Default CEL P0411 and Low RPMs While Idle/Nuetral

Hey guys,

I just recently purchased a 2003 S2000 with 87,000 miles. My check engine light came on about a week ago, then a couple days later I got it diagnosed. Here is what the mechanic had to say about it.

"The check engine light is turning on with a code P0411. This code indicates there is a problem with the secondary air injection system incorrect flow. Possible cause could be the valve or pump".

(Service recommended to fix = New air injection control valve and a new secondary air injection solenoid valve.)

When I got home I figured I would reset the ECU along with the CEL, so I did all of that. After a little into my test drive the light came back on so it's not a mistake. Ever since I did the reset on some occasions I get around 500 and below RPMs while in neutral/idling and I get a vibrating knocking sound at a complete stop until I give the car gas. Sometimes the RPMs will drop so low when put into neutral the engine shuts off and requires a restart. This doesn't happen all the time which is weird. I just really hope you guys can help me with my problem.

Do a search for PO-411. This topic has been covered numerous times

I've searched but I would still like to know if I should have the shop just go ahead and replace the parts I listed. I saw that Billman helped you get rid of your P0411 Code. What was done to solve your code?

When you reset the ECU did you re-do the idle learn procedure? If not, that's most likely causing your rough idling...

By the idle learn procedure do you mean... Once you put the fuse back in make sure everything is off then start the car and let it sit for 5 minutes? Maybe I did something wrong in that area because before I pulled the fuse it was running fine.

No you start the car and hold it at 3-4K RPM's for ~3 minutes with EVERYTHING else off until the cooling fans cycle (thermostat opens).

Did the ECU reset again before work yesterday and so far no low idling issues. Hopefully it stays that way The check engine light hasn't came back either.
