Apparently it's due to a bug in the ECU software - the ECU throws a P0600 when the ignition is on for 4 or more hours. Weird!

P0600 Problem

How did you resolve this issue? Anyway for the dealerships to fix this? I have HondaCare.
My car threw a CEL about midway through our 9 hour trip home today. I went to Autozone and got P0600 code from them.

What did you guys do to resolve this CEL ?

Searching s2ki (https://encrypted.google.com/search?...ki.com%20p0600), it appears a Honda dealership needs to update your "PGM-FI" (and/or ECU/ECM?)-- every thread says that, but no one has posted an update on whether that fix was accurate or not.

Be the change you want to be in the world and report back if that fix works for you.

The MIL comes on with DTC P0600 (serial
communication link malfunction).

PROBABLE CAUSE
When the ignition switch is on for about 4 or more
hours (engine running or not), the ECM can
misinterpret the serial communication signal and set
DTC P0600.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS."

P0600 is a communication failure between the ecu and the reported information from the gauge assembly.

There is a Honda procedure that uses the trip button and the headlight switch to activate an internal diagnostic mode. This mode runs through each system, to narrow down and pinpoint the specific system that has failed to communicate back to the ecu.

I have seen this code once about 10 years ago, it was a damaged connection in the ABS unit.

Get the Honda manual, and follow the self-diagnosis for the gauge assembly.

As it turns out... The next morning I went out to my car and CEL was no longer illuminated. I guess the poor girl needed some rest.
