Default Check Engine light, only on first start of day.

Im getting a check engine light. If I reset the light it will not go off while driving the car or starting the car through the day. However after sitting for the night starting in the morning it will immediately give a light. I dont really wanna pay money to find out what code its popping so any guesses would be great.

Thanks

why do people just reset the code every time they get a check engine light and hopes it goes away?
