Default clutch help

i posted on here a bit ago about my clutch starting to give out. its not clutch fluid nothing leaks. i took it to a family friend who has a shop and he said i might have 4-6 months left of the clutch. the part is $850 but he will only charge me $600 (his cost). the clutch hes getting is just from the auto parts store. does anyone know of a better clutch for same or cheaper price. i get install for free. THANKS.

oem clutch should only be around 200 dollars and theres no way parts are 850 even if you swap out bearings with a new fly wheel and new pressure plate.

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

I find its usually a good price, and for stock power anything above oem is just overkill. the stock clutch is great and can even handle power on a sc s2k.

DO NOT use any other disc but one right from Honda.

There is no part that costs 850.

Disc and two bearings is 250 right from honda, do not use that auto parts store crap.

Depends whats wrong with the trans, if its slipping I would just replace the clutch, bearings, and get the flywheel resurfaced. If there is something else wrong with the trans, your going to have to rip it apart and go from there. I honestly think your family friend doesn't know what he is talking about and trying to make some money off you. 850 for a clutch parts is ridiculous, and even his price of 600. Locally I can get my clutch replaced for about 800 with labor and parts.
