Tesa tapes are awesome, once I got them I never went back to using electrical vinyl tape ever again.

I did this on my Mazda, still need to do it on the S2000 though, I unpinned 1 pin at a time and put it into the new connector, that way I didn't get any of the wires mixed up.

Had a hard time finding the parts, so here's the link to Amazon where I got them. Took a little while to ship, but fit perfectly. I replaced 3 of 4 cylinders. I'm sure the last connector will crumble next time I need to remove it, but it looked fine for now.

Get a dedicated depinning tool. In case the plastic housing doesn't disintegrate in your hands.

Replacing my coil pack tonight and found the one closes to the firewall is the most difficult because of small amount of space and short wires. Any suggestions? I was able to get 2 of the 3 pins in. I am having difficulty inserting the 3rd white wire in the connector.

Thanks in advance !

I remember having to use needle nose pliers to gently pinch some wires a little behind the pin itself and push them in. If you listen closely, you'll here the pin snap in. You can also very gently tug back and ensure the pin resists, if you think it is set but didn't hear the snap. This isn't super technical, but since needle nose pliers come in different sizes and shapes, you should be able to find a pair to fit in the tight space.

Thanks, I found out that the OEM pins were bent and could not seat in correctly. So I had to cut the white connect off.

Next trying to replace the male connect is a pain in the a$$, I went though a bunch of clips and I can't get it to lock correctly on the wire and when I do it won't plug directly into the female end.

Thinking of using these I found on amazon: "
Chenx 4 sets ignition coil connectors for Honda Accord Odyssey civic CRV compatible ignition coil harness plug. Send 12 heat shrinkable tube terminals and 4 ties. " or "
Aokus SET 4 Ignition Coil Connector Plug pigtails work For HONDA CIVIC CRV S2000 ACURA RSX K Series Aokus SET 4 Ignition Coil Connector Plug pigtails work For HONDA CIVIC CRV S2000 ACURA RSX K Series
". Will this work? I am don't want to cut off the remaining two OEM clips if I don't have to. This will also give me some extra wires since the connect closest to firewall does not have enough slack. Hope someone can help this is been frustrating the past two days for something that should had only taken 30 mins to complete. Thanks in advance !

I've never replaced the male part, but to commiserate I'll say that to my knowledge both those Amazon items will fit your car. The 2nd link--Aokus brand--seems higher quality. Good luck!

And I agree with you, dea7hr0w. First thing I would try is just remove one of the new male connects and its pigtail wire. Use one of the crimp connectors to connect the pigtail to the wire you already cut. This way you don't have to cut off the remaining two OEM clips. Save the other 95% of the parts received from Amazon as backups.
