If there's a way to get 700HP out of the S2000 using the Vortech Kit, I'm buying one right now. cjb80 - will you confirm this please?

the actual sc unit has the potential to put out 700ponies....not on an s2k though.

as for the better sc, theoretically the vortech is a superior kit because of the stuff mentioned above. BUT there are still some issues with it so you should wait till they are all worked out. i believe comptechs kit has some issues in the beginning as well.

When I saw the thread topic, I was like "Jesus, not another one of these", but then I got to thinking (I know, dangerous stuff). If I were to buy a Comptech today, it would be cheaper and the new mounting plate with vibration mounts seems (emphasis on seems) to have fixed the stress corrosion cracking/resonance issues. Probably a nice kit. The Vortec on the other hand is a bit more expensive (although a bargain when you consider the A/W IC), more difficult to install (duh!) but safer due to the IC and timing control. Would nice to see a head-to-head with current product offerings.

I really appreciate your honesty. Most people may not know that you indeed do have the Vortech already on your car, so your words are very important.

I do have a few questions for you though. First of all, have you added a VAFC to the kit as well to lower the vtec point? How does the car feel below Vtech?

I just about bought one of these kits after i visited their facility about a month ago. I was very very impressed. The first thing i noticed was that they dont take any short cuts on any of their products which is why they are so popular. What turned me away though, was the dyno plot. Granted, i believe this kit can easily hit over 300 ponies to the wheels, but where the power came in was my concern. I dont drag race the car but i do road race. I was looking for something that would give me boost down low.

One of my best friends drives a turbo miata with around 205 to the wheels and i cant even begin to tell you how much fun that thing is to drive. He gets full boost (8 psi) at 3500 RPM, at around 2500 RPM, he has 5 psi of boost.

I have heard of ways of making a SC get more boost down low, but i m not sure about the effeciency, anyone know anything about this?

If you made me pick a sc kit at this point...I would go with comptech, because the kit has been refined.

But down the line, I would have to pick vortech (if they work out all the hitches).

I have noticed some interesting intercoolers (aftercoolers) lately. Check out http://www.pwr-performance.com/page867169.htm

Maybe it is just my lack of searching for posts... but I have only seen one or two dyno plots with the Vortech and they are hovering around the 283rwhp area. Looking at it from a simple persons point of view (me), Comptech without timing and intercooler gets the same horsepower. I know they are roughly identical cost so it would make sense to get the Vortech (from a tunability standpoint)... but still.

I know I should reserve judgement until the Vortech units have more track time... but just throwing some ideas out.

What about turbo dyno? That would be great to compare with! to see if there is gain in the low's.

If any one have it, please post the link. I would apreciate!

Thanks
