differential blown~!
puddy is an excellent guy. he knows what he is talking about. swapping your diff is a very easy procedure, i swapped mine with the stock exhaust still on the car and the wheels on and all. maybe took me 2 hours at most.

the mechanic shop that my car is at now . is quoting me 800 to replace the differential in my car not including price of fluids. given that i provide him the part. 2200 if rebuilds the whole thing.
is that a high quote or no?
gut feeling this is a little steep. I've gotten the replacement differential and just need him to do the swap. what a general ball park estimate cost for a job like this.?

HA HA HA HA 800??? the fastest time i have ever seen this job done was on a garage floor with hand tools in 45 mins. LOL it take roughly 2 hours if u dont know what you are doing. may 3-4 hours tops. 800 is way way way too much!!!!!!

not the diff gear set only.
800 to assemble and put it in? with provided parts?
8-10 hours of labor or something? That sounds wayyyyyy too high if you're providing all the parts and he's only assembling it. I couldn't think it would take more than 3 hours to do all the work.

Quick question. while my diff is not blown, i'm hitting the track soon here. There is 75w90 mobil1 in there right now, changed about 4000 miles ago.
Should i go to autozone and get some 75w140? I don't remember seeing 75w110 there. Actually i don't think they have 75w140... probably only 90w140.
meh.
