disconnecting HID
i did a search and found lots of good info on removing the headlights but not specifically disconnecting the HIDs. to be honest i'm a little intimidated by the fat capacitor that is there after taking off the grey cover on the back of the headlight. what is the safe way to get this headlight fully disconnected?
there is condensation inside so i am planning on taking it off to bake it and pry it open
thanks

Disconnect your battery for a bit, then under the headlight there is the ballast and a connection there to the igniter (thing behind the grey cover) disconnect that then you should be good to go.
I had no issues when i did a replacement ballast then chased a bulb problem early last spring doing this.
Oh and be sure not to touch the bulb the oils from you hands will shorten it's life considerably... Clean it with alcohol before inserting to be on the safe side.
