Discussion of Comptech SC Problems
I just got back from my mechanic friend and the person who installed my supercharger, Mark Basch. We took some time and he removed the entire alternator bracket and inspected the others.
Almost 8000 supercharged miles, 3 track events, only the Comptech check valve and NO cracks. We even examined it under a magnifying glass, literally.

Okay... enough is enough!
My SC is getting disconnected so I can soon drive my vehicle with "peace of mind"...
I think I will leave my SC mounted but remove its drive-belt and re-route the intake right into my throttle body... If that is too much trouble then I will remove it completely.
However: What will the new fuel pump and regulator do to my "naturally aspirated" engine? Am I in a catch 22?
Maybe I should have listened to Bieg.

cthree, Until we can determine what the cause of the problem is, it's too soon to decide if just changing the material to steel would fix the problem or not. The other thing to keep in mind is that so far we have shipped over 70 kits and there have been three cars with the bracket failures(2 repeatedly).
Our engineer is just one of the guys working on this project, and his background includes many years working as an Indy Car and Formula Atlantic engineer, so he has a thourogh understanding of metallurgy and testing methods.
