Default are drive shaft spacers need on an ap2?

Anyone know for suer if these are needed or not? I heard you don't need them on an AP2. I am changing out my diff on Saturday so if I need them I might as well put them in now. If they aren't needed can you explain as to why they aren't needed. Thanks.

There is no doubt on a lowered AP1 it is needed. The question is on an AP2.
