Engine Codes
I had a couple simple questions.
I have a 06 S2k with about 20,000 miles. Bought it about a year ago and love it. No midifications to it or recent repairs.
About a week ago, let a friend take a test drive. At one point they stalled it while trying to go after a stop sign. About 5 miles later the check engine light came on. Got the read out and they were as follows:
P2A00
P1172
P2271
P2A000
I read where the P2A00 and P1172 deal with the O2 sensor. Not sure what the P2271 is.
With the O2 sensor, is this something that would still be replaced under the original warranty? I think I read somewhere that it was part of the 8 year emissions warranty?
Does anyone know what the P2271 code is?
Finally, just out of curriosity, did my friend stalling it cuase it or just irony?
I appreciate any advice.

Research finds:
P0137, P0138, P0139, P0157, P0158, P0159, P2270*, P2271*, P2272*, P2273*: Secondary HO2S (Sensor 2)
On the other hand, I found out that P2271 is the same code as P1143 (as shown in mitchell on demand). It list both errors in the same row and column of the table.
The process to determine this error is intrusive...ie the ECM commands a lean condition in an effort to get the B1S2 to go below .6794 vdc....if the condition is not met within 7 seconds the error is flagged. After two consecutive occurrence the SES light is illuminated.
What I also found interesting is that all the OBD manufactures...BMW, FORD, Mercedes, Audi, GM, Honda etc use the P2271 code and has the same meaning.
I would not blame your friend, for he probably throttled it a couple times and your exhaust system reacted, setting off the codes for a too lean system.
Try resetting the codes, ensure your car is at operating temps before throttling. Ensure your oil is at proper level, viscosity is correct and that your spark plugs are fairly new (recommend NGK Iridium PFR7G-11S).
Hope this may help.

I have been busy and haven't really had a chance to deal with this. Anyways, I tried the above recomendations. Reset the light and as soon as I started driving it came right back on. Im still under the 5 powertrain and emmissions warranty. Should it be covered by this or should I just get a friend to help me replace the 02 sensors?
