engine light prob.
After I poured in the gas treatment 'sea foam', the engine light came on with the ' cat convertor ' problem. it came bak once a while again even though i cleaned the engine light.
I was recommanded to replace ther cat, but I dont wanna do it coz i just did it not long ago and it was expensive .
how can i solve the problem ?
thanks for helping

The last time you replaced you cat, did it rattle or did you cut it open to see if it was actually messed up? If your engine is dumping way too much fuel into the cat you can overheat it but this is highly unlikely.
Please post the actual code that came up with the CEL. It's possible that you just have a faulty or dirty 02 sensor.

how do I clean the O2 sensor or do I have to replace one ?
since i just cleaned the engine light yesterday, i dont have to code now
Catalyst efficiency codes are a not caused by a "dirty" 02 sensor. The catalyst is faulty, that it. I've seen numorous shops replace 02 sensors to fix a Catalyst code. After wasting $$ on 02 sensors they eventually replace the convertor and fix the car.
On a stock NA car the 02 sensors do not foul or get any more "dirty" than a sensor that is exposed to the exhaust stream.

If he's getting P0420 along with P0137, P0138, and/or P0141, then it could be an oxygen sensor issue.
Was2K says he was advised to replace the cat again, but we don't know the details behind this advice. Was this recommendation from a Honda Service Center after going through a diagnosis?
IMO, was2k should wait until the light comes back on and then read the trouble codes.
2 cents worth, I just replaced the cat in our 98 Accord, had 137K on the clock. Most people say the cat should last at least 100K. The Accord manual stated it's warranty is 8 years or 80K. Good Luck
