My car sounds like it has an engine knock, at idle and when i rev it up the knock speeds up with the engine. It also happens when accelerating but not deccelerating. And sometime ill rev it up and when it comes back to idle the noise wont be there so thats why i dont think its knocking becuase its not always there. And when i rev my engine up real quick it sounds like something rattling in my engine. Sometimes when i start my car up the reves drop a bit at idle and my car shakes and it picks back up again and is fine even driving and even idling it just happens on start up. There is no CEL light on and the car vtecs fine. I just had a missfire code the past few months where my map sensor, plugs, coil packs, and injectors were changed before it went away and now this came up 1000km later. For now i am not driving my car.

Had you run out of oil?
What was the reason for the failure?

Sounds like the engine oil fill cap fell off the transmission tunnel, that usually causes that kind of engine bay rattling sound. Prolong driving like this could have spilled out all your engine oil causing it to ceased. Good luck with the fix.

 

Ill update when the mechanic takes a look. The first one had a bent rod from sucking up a little water with my aem cai and eventually siezed up.
