Default Engine Stutter

Hi All,

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I will be taking the S to my local Honda dealer but as they are useless ('Oooh an S2000 - haven't seen one of them before!') I thought I'd get a heads-up in order to help them diagnose.

Basically the car is stuttering slightly when 'cruising' at pretty much any rev. At first I thought maybe my tyre pressures were off as the car felt like it was juddering slightly when on the motorway; but I've checked and they're OK.

I don't want my dealer to just go 'We'll change your filter, plugs & oil just to make sure' - this is just a cop-out when they haven't a clue what's up.

Car has had no mods and has just clocked 40K miles. Temp is about 10 degrees celsius and generally damp (England).

Free crystal ball to anyone who comes up with anything plausible

Give it a good WHACK and reset the ECU. If this works, then you might consider getting the new Honda TSB for the MAP sensor. This mostly involves getting the same (but new sensor) and a better securing method for the wiring harness. You can also do the zip tie and crazyglue trick with your own zip tie.
If this doesn't work, then you'll have to dig deeper (plugs, coil packs, injectors ).

MAP=Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor
Located on the Right side of the motor (looking from the front bumper). It will be the second sensor back....first one is the throttle position senser. Tap it with the back end of a screwdriver. As for TSB....Technical Service Bulletin.....they are available from your dealer. Just ask for the one regarding the MAP sensor.
