EPS light on and off

Default EPS light on and off

hi guys! ive beed drivin my ap1 for some time. ive notice one problem that it has is that when im driving sometimes . only not most of the times the eps light will suddenly turnoff and then the steering wheel will be heavy so it means that the eps is off then what im doin is turn off the engine then after a few seconds turn it on then there i no more eps light the eps is back and the sterring wheel is not heavy anymore...... it happned to me 5times already what could be the problem?? thansk!

Your electric power steering system is detecting a fault and shutting its power assist off for your safety. It could be many things -- faulty sensor or electrical short or loose connector or ...

It is hard to diagnose a problem that comes and goes. Wait until it happens regularly and take it to a mechanic. If I recall correctly there are some EPS checks in the service manual you could try on your own (like resetting the straight-ahead position).

Check the harness on the rack and maybe spray conducting grease on them.
