Default EPS problem

I know many of us are having this problem "steering wheel jerks and shakes (hard to turn then loosens then back hard again)"

for the past two days, I've been concentrating on getting my EPS back to work properly by reading many threads. Some say to swap out parts and others say swapping out did nothing for them. From all the threads I've read, only one person reported back stating that the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the EPS was reset and problem was solved.

has anyone else taken this route?

is there an EPS light?

in any case,
1. Reset EPS module using the steering wheel trick
2. Replace EPS control module.

in my situation, power steering would randomly give out. resetting the EPS only resolved the issue temporarily. so, i shopped around on s2ki (plenty of race car or totaled car parts outs) and ebay and got a "new" EPS control module. been trouble free since replacing it.

also, the service manual can also walk you through troubleshooting steps before considering replacing anything.

No, no lights at all.
I was planning on using the manual to troubleshoot the problem this weekend but thought I would ask to see if this issue has been sorted out so I can maybe save some time.

I had the same problem a few years back, when i turned left it was easy but when i turned to the right to full lock it was much heavier and needed more strength to get it across all the way. So i just reset the EPS a few times and after a while it was ok again.

Hope you get it sorted out.

^ that was my exact problem.

tried doing the reset many many times but was not able to get the indicator to stay on for "4 seconds" but instead I got 2 long blinks follow by 3 fast blinks. So I got back on the computer to read more about EPS problem and came across this thread:
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/834...#entry19939798

with the help of the thread above, I was able to figure out why I wasn't able to that "4 seconds indicator light".
the reason why it wasn't working is because my torque sensor neutral position was at full lock left, so instead of turning to"45 degrees" I held the steering wheel lock to the left then turn the ignition on.

will be testing the newly learned EPS tomorrow.
