EPS stopped working
I've lost my power steering and the EPS light is on. Does this likely mean that the whole unit is shot n needs replacing? How much to replace?
I have an 04 with 57k miles.
Thanks for the feedback

Happened to me after I turned the steering wheel lock to lock a couple of times with the front wheels off the pavement.
There's a EPS reset procedure. Posted here for certain. Requires a very specialized high tech tool (AKA paper clip) into a couple of contacts in the OBD2 port. Mine reset easily. Hardest part was getting under -- and back out! -- of the dashboard to connect to the OBD2 port.
Try this before completely panicking.

The only time it happened to me it turned out to be a bad ground on my Yellowjacket speed compensation device since I have changed the gears in the diff. If you are stock, this won't effect you, but I thought I would throw it into the conversation just inc case.
I replaced my EPS module (very easy job) and then with intermittent power steering failure (at start up when cold and on some turns, had the torque sensor cleaned and regressed. That seems to have solved the problem.
I had it come on twice because of rev'ing the engine above 2K for more than, I think, 2 minutes -- without having the wheels moving. Needed to do the reset procedure (which is a PITA IMHO, seemed like I was using a painfully nuanced Nintendo Contra-like cheat code to unlock power steering).
