Default Erratic Tachometer Display

I just noticed it today.

While driving, the tachometer display will not read past 6k rpm and goes back and forth erractically. While at idle the readout still is erratic. My S drives fine, though. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Should I have a dealer look at my S?

Let's see, the tach doesn't work properly but you are wondering if you should take it in for service. Hmm, do we really need to answer that?

Yes! I don't think this is something that you can fix yourself with a simple thump. Could be the tach feed from the car's ignition, a bad instrument panel or a glitch in the ECU.

Thanks.

I basically asked the question because I wanted to see if this has been experienced by anyone else on S2Ki and what was their solution.
