I have this happen at only at extremely low speed, eg. pulling out of drive way. When I step on clutch to shift from 1st to neutral or reverse to neutral the car shakes for 0.5 seconds.
This has been a common report and posted here often. My car eventually learns to compensate as you just not fight it and let it do its thing. After about 4-5 episodes, it usually stops doing it.
It has also been said that the MAP sensor needs a few good whacks with your knuckle or the rubber handle of a screw driver. Also, at the same time, you can reset your ECU. This is accomplished by pulling the "BACK UP" fuse in the underdash fuse panel with the car OFF. Put the fuse back after about 30 seconds. This is the fuse in the 3rd slot on the right row of fuses.
You will not have the first fuse as shown in my pic unless you have DRL's.
AS xviper noted it *usually* does it a few times and then learns its way around it. If you have removed the backup memory fuse for a test pipe or the like, it will do it forever.
If your valves are adjusted too tightly, it will do it continually as well. I find that with a narrow valve clearance and no backup fuse installed it will actually die when cold if I don't give it gas. Runs like a scalded dog when it's warm, though.
My point is that if you reset the ECU and give the MAP a slight thwack and the problem persists, you might have the valve lash checked. It has been known to be set incorrectly from the factory.
Oh, and you might check the plugs if the car isn't new. Bad plugs will have the same effect (rough or low idle).
