Default Gears Not Going IN

Hey guys. I'm new here and just recently purchased an AP1. Everything is perfect in the car although I am having one issue and it just started today. First the clutch gets kind of stuck on the way back when I release it, which isn't that big of a deal right now but the main problem is that I can't shift into 1st gear or reverse on a stand still. In order for it to go in, I have to repeatedly push the clutch in and out and hope that it will go in. And when it does go in, the car starts rolling forward with the clutch full pressed.

I saw the DIY that you clean and polish the Clutch Slave Cylinder but no one there had an issue where they couldn't physically shift.

If someone here can point me in the right direction, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Update: Now the car doesn't start at all. Engine turns over but won't start. Also still hard to put the car in gear even when it is turned off

Just to be clear, when the car is in gear and the clutch is in the car should roll whichever direction gravity pulls it. I would try to jump start the car and check the battery connections any CEL?

No CEL. And what I meant by the roll was that it drives forward. I understand that if the clutch is pushed in that in will roll backwards or forwards depending on the plane but this is on a flat surface that it drives forward.

I am going to try to jump start it to see if it is/isnt the battery

I would try checking the clutch master cylinder. Mine was leaking recently and I had a VERY hard time shifting into first and reverse. After I replaced that, the problem went away.

Pic of my master cylinder:

I am not sure about the engine not starting portion. Good luck!

Is there a tell tale way to see if it is leaking, i.e. grease or fluid outside of the master cylinder. And is it a simple job to replace?

Actually if its turning over its probably not a battery/starter problem since the car turns over. However I doubt the two problems are related.

You should be able to see if the mc is leaking by just looking at it. Sounds like the clucth is not disengaging

2nd Update: OK so turns out the problem with the car not starting was the battery. Gave it a jump and it started no problem. Going to get a new battery now. The other problem is still going on but now no matter how hard I try i can't throw it into 1st or reverse.

I started the engine with the car in 1st and it just flew forward with my foot still on the clutch fully pressed. I went ahead and took the advice and ordered the Clutch Master Cylinder. Should be in sometime this week. Hopefully that will do the trick

So I figured it out. Turns out the Clutch Reservoir was completely empty. Filled it up and now its good. Clutch is still a little sticky and there seems to be a slow leak so i'm still going to change the Master Cylinder so everything comes out perfect
