Default Getting the door trim off - how?

Not exactly under the hood, but....

I need to replace the black trim piece on the top of the doors that the window slide down into. It's loose and jiggles, but I don't want to break any clips. Can anyone point me to a DIY? Or just tell me how to get it off?

Thanks everyone.

Let me see if I can remember these steps off the top of my head. First take a look at the top corner of the door panel where it meets the dash, there's a small black plastic clip. That needs to be popped out. Then open the door handle and use a Phillips head to remove the screw holding the handle trim on. After that just slide the trim piece off. Next take a look at the door handle itself. There are 2 plugs that pop right out. There are big Phillips head screws in there, so take them out. After that grab the bottom of the door panel and pop it off, then it'll slide right up. Hope I didn't miss anything!

Hey, thanks very much. Unfortunately it came just after I left the shop where my car is. But I'll try it later.

But, since all I want to do is take off the black trim piece at the top of the door, the piece that the window slides down into, the piece that has the black fuzz lining it, it seems all I have to do is take off the small black plastic clip on the top corner of the door panel where it meets the dash? I don't really need to do anything with the door handle or the whole door panel, correct?

Honestly if you want to remove that small piece at the top, the door panel will have to be off the car to gain access to where that trim piece is attached to the panel itself. You can have the door panel off literally in less than 2 minutes.

Oh, ok I gotcha. So there aren't a bunch of clips holding the whole panel on, huh?

Yes there are. Once you get handle trim off and the screw in the door handle out you have to pop the panel off. There are a bunch of white clips holding the panel to the door.

Ok, do any of the clips usually break? Should I have spares? is the panel material cheap enough where it might rip or anything? Or is it pretty durable?

Ive removed door panels on many S2000's and the plastic clips have never broken for me. I dont think you have to worry about them breaking and if one or two break its really no big deal. Be careful with the door panel around the door handle area as it can rip if a sharp tool touches it. The rest of the door panel is pretty much plastic so you dont have to worry too much.
