Got a new clutch + Flywheel installed. Clutch pedal feeling different?
Hello,
I recently got a new clutch and flywheel installed at a local shop. To be more specific, I got the Exedy stage 1 (Oem honda Pressure plate / Exedy clutch disk) + F1 Racing flywheel (the 10.95 lbs) combo.
After I got in the car, the first thing I noticed is the significantly "lighter" feeling in the clutch pedal. Feels like theres almost little to no pressure in the pedal at all. Its still pops back out without resistance and all, but I feel that my previous clutch pedal was much stiffer and had much more pressure.
My previous clutch setup was OEM everything (PP, disk, flywheel). So I cant imagine its anything thats component thats affecting the pressure of the pedal???
Do you think its the lack of pressure in the fluid (or air in the system) thats causing the lack of pressure? Otherwise, the clutch grabs well, and dont have any problems so far.
thanks!

the second I read "different feeling" I immediately knew you were talking about it feeling lighter.
It just means your mechanic did it right - if you regrease the input shaft, it'll get loads lighter. As the clutch dust settles back into those grooves it'll get heavier again.
--edit--
Also, I have the exact same combo. I love mine, been in my car for more than a year I think.

if you have an ap1, all new Honda s2k pressure plates are the ap2 style, Honda no longer produces the ap1 pressure plate. The ap2 pressure plate has lighter clamping force than the ap1. If you had an ap2 then yeah like mentioned above it is just the new parts and lube working easier.
