Default heavy fuel smell

In the last few days I've been getting a heavy fuel smell inside the car. I did a search on the other forum and the closest topic was after a SC install. The car has 50k on it so I couldn't imagine the injector o-rings are leaking. I checked the fuel lines running from the tank to the engine bay. Nothing looked to be leaking, loose, or dripping fuel. I only smell it in the cabin, once your outside the theirs nothing. I checked the seal inside the fuel cap and it was good. Anybody else have similar issues? Could it be the charcoal canister? Thanks for the help.

Usual cause is a missing oil cap.

Did you just top off the fuel tank? If so, when you fuel up, do you keep pumping gas into the tank after the initial kick off by the pump?

oil cap is straight. I thought it was just due to over filling of the tank but, I've had that tank for a week and its nearly on "E" and I'm still getting the smell

But how did you fill your tank? Even if the main tank is empty, fuel can be in the fume filter if you overfilled, and it will just have to evaporate.

spray all the carpets with some febreeze and see if the smell goes away. If not, you might want to see the seals on the head, and take the rear carpet out on the trunk to see the actual fuel pipe to see if there are any leak.

Maybee you can check under the soft top where the spare tire is stored. You can see all the fuel neck and related goodies in there.

Since you recently installed an SC I would say it could be:
-loose fuel delivery/return line at the pump
-loose fuel lines on the fmu
-torn top injector o-ring
-bad seal between the fpr and fuel rail
