Default help

so i recently had my oil changed. the next day i was driving pretty fast racing evos and what not. later that day i accelerated to a horrific sound. a quite knock when i accelerated. i pulled over and looked at the engine, no oil cap! so my question to you guys is am i screwed or is it just a low oil knock. personally i think im screwed because i checked the oil and there was plenty in the engine. 75k on the car.
thanks

Ha!

The oil cap is wedged between the firewall and engine/transmission. This is the knock you are hearing. The engine vibrates the cap against the car and it sounds like an engine knock.

Very common.

Find the cap and put it on all will be fine.

S2000s don't have a set valve adjustment interval. Service manual states "adjust if noisy". These cars have gone close to 150k without having the valves ever touched.
Good thing Billman stepped in or the guy would have been tearing his valve cover off and doing unnecessary work and possibly making things worse.

I dropped my cap down there once. I bent a coat hanger and stuck it down there to retrieve it. It was actually kind of nerve-wracking.
