Thumbs down Help with CEL code

I got a CEL today and checked for the code with the obd2 scanner. The code was:
P2610 ECM/PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance.

What exactly is this code about and what could have caused this?

I do not have any mods, just an aftermarket anti-theft device. Engine has 25k miles. Someone chime in please.

thanks for the response teanza. i searched and found the same link you gave. i think that the only solution is a ecu reflash or replacement of the ecm. i don't know why this just happened all of a sudden though. still lost on what exactly cause this malfunction.

I would mention this to Honda and find out if its covered by warranty or not. This seems to be an internal ECU issue, and provided that you haven't done any weird electrical things, it has to be due to lack of durability of the parts thet chose when building the board.

Also, you can probably ignore it if its about EVAP stuff. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in. But I would think that it doesn't have much to do with the way your engine runs.

So i disconnected the battery on Wednesday and took it to Honda the next day. I told them about it but since i cleared the code they couldn't check it out. They said the ecu was probably just acting up and threw a CEL and that i should be fine. So they said that if it comes back on to bring it back in so they can check it.

Well it came back on today and I was babying the car when it went on. So i guess i'm heading back to the dealer this week. I am out of warranty with Honda but I have warranty with my insurance.

About the EVAP...I noticed the EVAP monitor icon blinking on my obdII scanner when I checked the CEL and it is still the same CEL (P2610).

I'll see what's up with the car when i bring it to the stealership this week. I hate CEL's
