HELP eps codes 21 and 14
Hey I am rebuilding a salvage s2000... and the car is all ready for expection but I cant get the EPS to work...
I get 2 codes..
DTC: 14 Open or short to body ground in the torque sensor circuit
DTC: 21 A problem with the voltage for lG1
If i look at the torque sensor there is a small crack on the plastic housing.. so I guess that why I have code 14... but I dont understand cose 21
any suggestions?? and how to test? Do i need a new rack?

Both problems you note are indicative of poor connection at the connectors. A crack shouldn't really matter. If the rack was out for any period of time the connectors may have oxidized slightly. Try very carefully burnishing the female pins with very light sand paper or slide the connector on and off several times to try and get better contact.

P.S. If this desn't work then you may want to invest in a Helm manual (i.e. factory manual) for the car. This gives detailed failure tracking info. Good luck!

If you downloaded the manual it's a stolen copy. Manuals are copy-written material. You can buy a paper copy here: www.helminc.com
I believe I had the same codes as you...My eps still isn't working. It is intermittent, on and off when it wants to. I've had the car for almost 3 yrs and could never fix the problem. If you figure it out, please post the info!!!
Thanks
