To the OP: Since you have an 2006 ECU, its going to store the overrev code in the ECU. If your car is ever in for warranty work that is engine related, a Honda Tech's first instinct is going to be to pull the code and see whether the engine has been overreved. I'm not sure that there is anyway you can wipe this code from the ECU.

If you're looking to get just the valve cover pulled for inspection, I can get you in sooner.

Obviously combined with a once over I'll need a bigger window.....
Bill, do you still stand-by your original theory that AP2's will not split retainers and run symptom free like the AP1's? Since my buddy and I have inspected retainers for a lot of local s2000 owners (and seen some AP1's with bad ones) I am overly curious if its still neccesary protocol on AP2's . . .although even if we decide no, I'd still probably always tell peoplle to check it, lol.

I went into 2nd gear at 75 last time.. it's still good.

You'll notice it if your car runs/idles weird..

You'll notice it when the valve drops for sure

A broken retainer will not affect the idle or the running condition, and it will make no noise at all.

I'm not sure if your previous comment above this one was refering to my question or not, but do you still stand-by your AP2 retainer theory?

driving home last night, I seriously don't know how I put it in 2nd instead of 4th. I had to go all the way to the left of the shifter to get into 2nd. Oh well, shit happens I guess.

The car runs and idles fine but will be checking my retainer soon. To do that, all I need to do is open the valve cover and use a dental mirror to look? Do I turn the crank at all?
