Help with VTEC please!
Here is a crazy thought. When I did my first swap back in high school 98 itr motor in 5th gen hatch I did all my wiring and could not get vtec to work. After a few days of diagnosing this and that I brought it to 1 of the best Honda guys I knew around my area. It literally took him 3 mins to tell me that my IAT sensor wasn't working. I was confused but we swapped it and I had vtec. Prob not the issue but never know also do you have any codes? Anything that might have the car in a limp mode or possibly thinking the car is at operating temp?
To my knowledge, there aren't any shops in south Georgia/ north Florida that specialize in S2000s.
No, the car wasn't throwing any codes prior to being tuned and I'm not sure if they would show up running the PnP Haltech unit. The only sensor that was changed was the map sensor (stock to a SoS 3 bar) and that was swapped the day it was tuned.

I'm not as familiar with the F20C, but there may be a port higher up or closer to the VTEC spool valve that may give you a better picture of oil pressure at the valve. You may have to get an external gague to check that. Has the valvetrain ever been apart?
There may be something leaking oil pressure off or blocking oil passage preventing VTEC from engaging.

The engine has never been torn apart for anything other than valve adjustments that I am aware of, but I am the third owner. VTEC was definitely working when I bought it a year ago though.
And that's what I'm worried about. I've read several other posts about the rocker arms / rods becoming worn and letting oil pressure escape.
