Default HID Problem need help please

Hey people recently one of my HID lights stoped working completly and i was wondering how i can solve wat the problem is and if i should do it alone or get a auto electrician to have a look at it and fix it or maybe even a honda dealer??

I was thinking of trying to find the problem myself but what do i need to do in order to fix it it seems there isnt much room to get to the HID from the engine bay do i need to remove the bumper and headlights???

btw wat type of bulbs do the HID use? h4 h3 etc? thanks heaps help would be appreciated ive asked around with friends they said best to ask on this forum cheers

Try to swap bulbs first. Bulb type is D2S.

you would need to go under your wheel wheels to get to the headlights. If you have time just take off your front bumper.

Or you could try switching the bulbs. If the same side still doesn't work then its most likely the ballast. That way you don't end up spending money on a bulb you don't need.

Check fuses first.

Then open the underhood fuse box, and swap the 2 headlight relays. easy enough. If they check out (in other words, same light is still out), only then move to the headlight, start with checking the connection.

ok...... you need t25 tamperproof torx bit to open the cover to get to the hid bulb......or do what i did and used a needle nose to loosen it up. bulbs go for 27 bucks shipped on ebay. And as far as taking off the bumper...you could actually reach into the holes under your hood. Its a tight squeeze but very possible.

Nah, remove the underfender liner instead. It takes longer, but believe me, your bumper paint will thank you many times over.

My friend bought a pair of ebay HIDs for like $100 for his BMW. He has zero low beams, and high beams only work halfway. It sucks!

Also note that it is very important not to touch the bulb with your bare fingers. The oils from your skin may shorten the life of the new bulb.
