Default I Have Dumb Air Filter Question

Hey everyone i got a noobie air filter question, my friend used to have an s2k and he advised me to take the top of my air filter box so i would get a louder sound but how till i should replace the air filter or is there any out there that would create a similiar affect without having to expose it
and also how much do they cost???

I think the word "long" is missing in there somewhere...

If you want the nice sound, go with a CAI along the lines of the AEM, 4IGS, or Injen. The filter should probably be replaced every 10-15k miles stock, or reoil at that interval if using an AEM-style intake. Expect about a $150-$250 price tag for the mentioned CAIs.

I suggest against taking the stock box top off...while it may sound cool, you tend to lose several ponies, especially in hot weather.
