Default Idle being wonky

So the past few days I've noticed that my car will someones not idle properly when I clutch in or put it in neutral for idle. It'll dip really low and sometimes make the car stall. The times it doesn't do this it idles perfect and the car is running normal otherwise.

I'm not throwing any codes or anything.

I'm thinking a bad spark plug? I checked my throttle cable and it seems fine, its in there but not so tightly that it couldn't be pulled out.

Any ideas/Suggestions?

try resetting the ecu, cleaning idle air valve and throttle body and maybe throw in a MAP whack for good measure.. as many have said before me, we have a learning ECU and occasional dips in idle are normal

If it was spark plug it would run crappy at any speed.

Its probably your TP sensor, dirty IAC, or IAC is shot. Check your TP sensor voltage at idle, should be .44-.50V (opinions vary on this one). You should try cleaning you IAC also.

Found the thread for cleaning the IAC, I'll give that a shot.

let us know if IAC alone fixes the problem...if not try MAP sensor.

by doing one at a time, we can get some isolating data.

Messed with my throttle cable and it seems to be fixed, I'll have to drive it around some more.

i doubt throttle cable had anything to do with it.

be sure to leave the correct amount of free play on the cable...

I figured I may as well try since it was free and took 2 mins to do.

I haven't stalled or had wonky idle issues since. Seems to be gone now. I stalled 4 times on my way to work yesterday due to the idle, today, nothing.

it will come and go. I had it a lot one day...nothing the next, again a few days later.

Cleaning the IACV takes like 10 minutes....I'd do that cause the the throttle won't have any effect on this problem. It's more coincidental that it went away after tightening it, that's all.
