i'm running an electric water pump
hey everyone,
i am going to be running a meziere wp136s pump in my f20c powered project and need to figure out what belt i need to run off the crank pulley. it is only running the alternator now. it will still wrap around the idler and tensioner, but no water pump pulley. if someone knows the easiest way to figure out what belt i need please let me know your idea. i've measured the length around the remaining pulleys and it is about 42" without the tensioner having any pressure on it.
this will be temporary as i intend to get rid of the belt altogether as i will be moving the alternator to run elsewhere.

From my experience with Gates belts, the part number you'll need will be something like K060420. K=serpentine type belt, 060=6 rib belt, 420=approximate lenght in inches with the final zero allowing for fractions (i.e. K060425 being approximately 42.5 inches). They measure the length as the outside circumference of the belt. Other manufacturers' part numbers have dimensional significance also.
Hope that helps.

thanks. yeah, i figured i'd just get a belt with the 45 in the pn changed to a 42 and see how it fits. i'm sure if it doesn't i'll just be able to take it back and exchange it for something closer.
i appreciate the help.

I'd like to do something like that to my ac compressor so I don't put that load to the engine, even further if I can get everything running on the electric motor I'd be able to have my ac running on the summer with the engine completely shut off... If you can post pictures of your project...
