immobilizer
Simple question..I'm rekeying the s2k since I put in a haltec a few months ago. I'm selling the stock ecu with the immobilizer and replacing it with another one i got on ebay. My question is about the immobilizer. Can I just pull off the black box part of the immobilizer or does the immobilizer unit require the factory lock cylinder that it was paired with originally?
All of the screws are accessible without removing the whole unit. My question is if the immobilizer unit needs the lock cylinder housing to operate properly. Like when I sell my old ECU, do I need to sell the lock cylinder housing or just the immobilizer with the lock cylinder and key?

-I don't think its quite that simple, from my understanding the transponder box is soldered in.

-Typically when replacing an old/bad ecu with a used one they just go to honda and have them install and reprogram the new ecu to their current key.
Some dealerships will, however, need the VIN number from where the ecu came from, so as a courtesy id recommend writing your VIN on tape and sticking it to the ecu.
Hope this helps.
