That infamous Check Engine Light
Awesome!! I will leave it alone then. I really didn't feel like butchering up a stock part!! I kind of figured that the stock setup was better than most of the aftermarket stuff out there. The only thing I did was replace the filter with a K&N and just for theory purposes replaced the intake pipe with the SAMCO one, just because the SAMCO doesn't have the ridges around the bend on the inside of the pipe. I assume that the less turbulence the air has getting to the throttle body, the better it will be. Just a thought.
Thanks!!

Well, drove about 100 miles today just to see if the light would come back on, and so far so good. I did highway driving and city driving. What i did notice was a pretty decent power gain in the range between 3500rpm - 7000rpm. I am super happy with this little mod. Didnt consist of much, but def. woth the money!! Next bolt on will be a test pipe to free up some flow from the exhaust side of the engine. Hopefully that CEL fix that comes with most of the manufacturers pipes, will be a good enough fix for the 07's.. Ive read several posts that people have had the light even with the fix and some say they have no light... i guess it depends on the mood the car will be the day of the install!! lol

First as a new owner let me welcome you aboard! Lots of folks here run lots of intakes and I'm sorry I'm not familiar with yours. CEL's are VERY common with intake upgrades and 99% of the time they have to do with the check valve being reversed. It is a small plastic device which you will find on one of the hoses. Normally I would say you reversed the valve. But per the thread perhaps you are in the 1%. The 1% percenters normally relate to the aftermarktet hoses being 3 mm as opposed to the 2mm stock. New hoses have not taken a set yet and so leak a bit. This causes the secondary air injection system to not activate and causes the check engine light to come on. You can take it to any auto parts store and have them pull the code for free ( they do it for free because they want to sell you parts after they identify the problem). In your case I wuld bet you have a "P0411 Pending". OIt will be shown as "pending " as the condition corrected itself. My guess is, if the CEL extinguished, you new CAI lines needed to take a set...

You don't need to disconect the battery to reset your ECU, just find the fuse and pull it otherwise you will have to reset your radio code and the clock, Do a search on this and you will see exactly which fuse it is.
