I have an '01 with 123,000+ miles on her. I replaced a coil pack about a year and a half ago when I got similar symptoms. Cleared up the issue back then.

A couple weeks ago I think I lost another one. I'm getting misfire codes thrown and it runs like it only has 3 cylinders. Getting 1399, 0300, 0301, 0302, 0303 & 0304 codes. I am hoping I didn't do any long-term damage because I couldn't stop when it began to act up. When I got home, the O2 sensor was glowing red, so I know where the unspent fuel was being ignited. Anyway, thanks for this thread. I'll post whatever information I can about the process.

Hopefully I only have 3 potential suspects.

I'll add a Bit to this thread. I was majorly into K's (8 different motors, 3 built) before plunging into the S2000. Stock 02-06 base and S coils are all the same on the RSX, 02-05 EP3 SI are the same, 04-08 TSX are the same, and 06-11 FG2/FA5 are the same. If you look them up online, through HONDA or ACURA or even advanced/autozone/nape/etc, they all show different part numbers, not sure why, BUT they are all the same. All have the same number/name, and physical look on them, that I have seen. Unsure about Accord/CRV k24's. All have been proven on 400, 500, 600, 700, 1000, etc HP K20s/k24s. Also, out of all the K's I have had (albeit, non-turbo'ed, I'm an all-motor guy), I have never had a coilpack fail. Many of my motors were well over 100kmi.

Oh, and sub'd.

Yep. I have 1 K20 coilpack (looks just like 04-05 s2k) and 3 MY00 coilpacks. No problems in 3000 km, runs just fine.

Has anybody used these?

My link

I was looking at the packs you can get from O'reilly's which are "Import Direct" brand for something like 60 bucks as apposed to the 100 bucks Honda wants and when I got home I was looking around and found these didn't know if they were crappy China ones or some manufacturer that makes parts from Honda. Any advise would help i need to get back on the road and am strapped from cash.

Just replaced my coil packs.

Confirmed: For a year 2000, Duralast brand ignition coils (Part: C1265) from Autozone have literally the same part marking as the factory Honda coil packs. Part marking says Denso but in a Duralast box. $68.99 each, in stock for me, otherwise they order for store pickup 1 day later.

Printed on the housing of the part that came out of a Duralast box:
099700-0430
DENSO
Made in Japan

Same as the coil packs I pulled out from the car.

Woah, thanks for the tip. I had a flashing CEL that I traced to the cylinder 4 coil. I thought for sure it was going to be at least two days and $100+ until I could get an OEM replacement, but my local Autozone had one of these around. Markings are the same, and it looks exactly the same. Solved the problem in one evening and the car runs better than before.

i have read this thread and others but i have not seen any real proof that ap1<ap2 coil pack. my main concern is that ap1 revs higher then all other hondas, so reason for its own specific coil. i have read a lot of people state that the okida coil pack is a tsx coil? tsx is drive by wire so does that mean the 06 ap2 coil packs would work better in ap1 and ap2 v1 cars?

my ap1 old CoP
1-2 pin ohm tested
cylinders list 1-4
1.194Ω
1.180Ω
1.190Ω
1.192Ω

ap2 04/05 new denso coil on plug
1.146 or 1.164 i forgot..
changed the one with highest resistance even with No CEL.

result: i noticed less misfire accured during cold startup, other than that i dont feel any differences in gain but i felt a bit of torque after 4k rpm. perhaps if i change all of them it might restore lost torque.

idk ap1 a new coil's ohm, im not gonna bother buying a pricy ap1 CoP
does anyone know?
