Default installing js2k footwell lights

i hope this is the right section to post this...not sure if there is an electronic section but here goes

i installed my footwell lights that i order from js2k as the instructions say. i ran a power wire from the battery to a relay and wired everything up like the instruction say. after everything was wired up, i go to test it out and the lights dont turn off. for example, when i lock my doors they are suppose to turn off, but they dont. they just run all the time.

i have double checked to make sure all my wiring is correct, and it is. one thing i noticed is that if i dont have it hooked up to the stock alarm (tap into the green w/ yellow stripe wire) the switch seems to be working properly, lights are off with the switch "off" and lights are on with the switch "on".

anyone have any suggestions as to where i should start my trouble shooting?

I haven't installed these yet (i have a set, just waiting for the motivation), but it sounds like you might have the terminals switched on the relay. The lights need to be on 30 and 87 (or 87a), while the wire you tapped need to be on terminals 85 and 86 of the relay.

Are you sure you tapped the right wire? Because if they are on all of the time, either the relay is bad or the wire you tapped is hot at all times, which is not what you want
