Default Intake Install ?

I just got done installing my K&N Gen II FIPK and ive got a ?. On the air control solenoid valve there is the black cap that sits on top of the assembly. Everything is hooked up correcty but when this cap is push down into the original position it sounds like a pressure cooker. I then took the black top off and just pushed it down far enough without it making the noise. Is this ok?

Also, we went for a ride and everything was running great and the sound was awesome. I let the car sit for an hour go out to move it into the garage and the CEL kickes on. Anyone have any idea what could cause it??? Im tighting the throttle cable now with the neg. battery terminal unhooked to let the Ecu reset. Ill have to see if it comes back on........Any help would be appreciated. Thank!

I think you may have crossed vacuum lines. There is a line with a check valve and a line without. These two lines get mixed up all the time when people install an intake. The car will run but, it will through a code.
Check this first for your problem.

Good luck

I double checked all of the lines from the instructions and all of them are correct. Could the cap on top of air control solenoid valve been damaged? I think it fell of the work bench due to some nasty wind yesterday......would that effect anything?

Doubtful. Make sure your lines are good near the throttle body. Many people mix them up and get the same CEL as your getting.
