You have probably a liter more oil in the engine than is necessary or safe. Varying non-footnoted internet articles spell out varying shades of doom but why not reduce it to the level it should be and know you're safe? Thin plastic tube (aquarium tubing) down the dipstick and siphon out a liter into a clean, dry soda bottle. Pour back what you need to hit the mark. I had to change the oil in my sailboat's inboard engine this way. No bolts to worry about!

Since oil comes in known capacity bottles there shouldn't be a lot of confusion as to if it's full or over full after an oil change. If all the old oil is out. Draining while level assures this. I just put an entire 5 quart bottle in and let it settle over night and see what more it needs.

I drove it into work today (about 13km), would I be safe to drive it back home and then take out excess oil or should I do it right away?

So you guys think there's any issues with engine sounds present in the videos I posted above?

Frothing oil from the crank foaming the oil will induce air in the lube system, or so the claim.

Just keep the rpm down.

One other advantage of the Fumoto is the ability to drain any amount you desire quickly. Overfill, sample, or draining into individual bottles are a snap.

An overhauled engine should take 5.6liters of oil and depending how you jacked up the car when draining the old oil it might need more than 5l.
When I've had my oil pan removed it would take well over 5l, probably close to 5.5l.
If you are sure you check the dipstick correctly and it reads fine the oil level is fine

So checked it again and the level is between the top X and rhe bottomnof the H.

I think I just lowered the level through checking the oil so much on the dipstick haha!!

I suppose that's one way to do it, unless your oil level is above the H I wouldn't worry too much. If you look at the pics on the previous page, you'll see you have about 3/4 of an inch from the H mark to the windage tray. Also when the car is running the oil level will drop a little.

You only have to worry about cylinder 4 because the crank is exposed and it's the shallowest part of the pan.
