I'm too cheap to spend the extra money and get a low profile jack. I drive the car up onto two 2X10's that I've cut to around 12" long. That raises the car enough to get any size jack under the car.

I think my current jack is an Al floor jack from Sears. Works well, but the seals are starting to fail

Nope. It's days are limited. I seem to go through themevery few years. I'm usually smart enough to use jack stands too... But they're so cheap these days so I'm not to concerned about throwing the old ones out.
