Wouldn't using the AEM EMS or e-manage permanently disable the MRL? Since both that and the CEL are controlled by the ECU.

An EMS probably could, an emanage I doubt since its a piggy back not a full standalone

The maint light is only a mileage counter. It is designed to warn every 7500 miles. That is all, it does not measure oil level or oil quality. You of course should check/ change the oil more often than the 7500, but it will go off again around that time frame.

Exactly, it's just a counter, and there are already three counters keeping track of the mileage. I reset "trip 2" at every oil change and "trip 1" every time I fill the tank, and an additional counter activated idiot-light serves no useful function. Three is enough.

But it's so pretty when it flashes on the dash this time of year. I wish I could time it to come on every Christmas season.
