I have an 2001 AP1 with 83K miles on it and I've just recently noticed on start up that my Maintenance Req light will flash 9 times. I've never really noticed this before, maybe it's always done this. The car runs great and there's no issues but this has me thinking.

How many times do these normally flash on start up?

It's nothing to worry about. Its when it stop flashing and stays on. When tat happens, do the require maintinence and just reset it.

 

Good to know. I thought it might be based on the mileage and the regular scheduled maintenance but I just bought the car a year ago and had all fluids changed out and had the car gone over by Alex at Ballade.

Its just based on mileage. I think it flashes once at startup every 5k miles, then flashes many times and stays on at 7500 miles. To reset -

* - Put the key in the ignition and in the "OFF/LOCKED" Position.
* - Hold the Trip/Reset Button on the right bottom corner of your gauge cluster
* - Now - Turn key to the "ON" Position while continuing to hold the Trip/Reset Button till the light goes off.
