What is the maintenance cycle as for changing oil every 3 to 5k miles. Air filter every 15k isn't it also. Much help would be appreciated.

Huh? The manual suggests changing the engine oil between 3500 and 7500 miles (or so), depending on usage. The air filter probably shouldn't be replaced that often. Replacing air filters too often will just increase wear, since a dirty filter does a better job filtering than a clean filter.
