Money shift and cracked retainers

Money shift and cracked retainers
Ok, I know I will probably get hounded on this thread but here it goes. The other day my Dad wanted to take my car out for a drive. No big deal, so we went out for a few minutes. Well, he ended up having trouble getting accustomed to the close gears and accidently downshifted from 5th to 2nd instead of 4th. I wasnt really worried because we were only going 40-45mph. But... now I am reading a few threads about cracked retainers. Since my car is a 2003, I assume these are still the more vunerable retainers.
Should I be worried? I doubt the rpms would have reached redline at that speed... right?
Just out of curiosity, how much does it aprox cost to get the retainers replaced with ap2 parts? Is this something that would be covered under bumper to bumper warranty?

no you shouldn't be worried, are you nuts?
2nd goes up to 60mph in a ap1 at least... and you were only going 40-45mph? shake it off and stop worrying.
as for replacement cost that you won't need to worry about, i don't know how much.
I really doubt that Honda America will fix your car after a money shift but stranger things have happened.

you should be fine...as far as your valve train goes.
your synchro's won't like skipped gears though, but should be fine.
replacing retainers is not covered under bumper-to-bumper warranty.

no real need to worry, but if you haven't had them inspected before or after you purchased(assuming you purchased used) then you may want to have them inspected just for piece of mind. It cant hurt to take a look.

Ok thanks guys. I guess I am crazy. Especially with this stupid car. I had a prelude before this and was careful with it as well, but this car I just seem to be insane about.
The car is indeed used and I had the retainers checked when I purchased the car. I guess every year or so I will just have them checked out for precaution.
