More broken retainers, 6TH TIME

i did notice the lines that circled the retainers but brushed it off as something else since all the photos of cracked retainers were vertical.
There is a line that runs all the way around the retainer right at the base of the conical part (where it's almost flat, just before it does the vertical step that actual seats the spring in place). This is not the crack -- it's normal.
There is also a (jagged) line running around the middle of the cone, right above where the flash reflection is all white. This is the crack, and it very much is not normal.
FWIW
FYI
I've called my Honda dealer and asked if this part# was available:
14765-PRB-A01 (F22 retainer)
Their computers look into the parts database for Germany & the Netherlands & Belgium (maybe even Luxemburg)
Reply: yes, its a retainer for the Civic Type-R MY07.
It would be informative to find out how much force it takes to make a cracked retainer fail.
The visible cracks in the pictures Billman posted
make me think the cracked retainers are up to 50% damaged and still they don't fail as soon as the damage was done, IOW there is some safety margin.
In a way thats kinda reassuring.

Billman, is the part number 14765-PRB-A01 (F22 retainer) the same one you use?

what constitutes an overrev? isnt there a rev limiter to prevent this?
Wrong gear over rev. Not hitting the rev limiter.
It is over-reved mechanically by the rear wheels, rev limiter can not stop this.
2.2 retainer 14765-PRB-A01

I call BS on 16 craked retainers.
if you would supply me with a shipping address i would gladly send you the 14 (i took 2 to my workplace to show a coworker) overreved retainers i replaced from my engine. and if you still dont belive that all these retainers came from a single engine, then at least we have 3 cases of these cercumfriential(sp) failed retainers.
