I had a ticking noise at around 3.5krpm.

Called the dealer. They told me to bring it in the next day.

On the way to the dealer the engine blew up. Three weeks later the dealer is denying responsibility claiming driver abuse.

Figure that on out, especially since the valve train is in perfect condition. How could it be an overrev? The car has always been serviced and has always had the right level of oil.

 

What happened.
At long last, I'm updating the "Short Block Replacement Thread." It even has a picture from Jason Saini's scored #4 cylinder.
How did your mess turn out?

 

UPDATE:

After 4 weeks almost...i will be getting my car back either tomorrow(monday) or tuesday. I won't bore you with the details, but I am actually getting a whole new engine from top to bottom.

 

PS. it was the #4 piston failure. Also they said the cam shaft was cracked....that is why I am getting the entire engine replaced..not just the short block....said they sould not reuse the heads as they were damaged.... I also had the spark plug tsb done a couple of months ago...before the tsb was done...the car was hesitating at 6500rpm's....they fixed it saying that the spark plug was loose and messed up the gasket...could this be a part of the reason for the #4 piston failiure?
