Default is my K&N fipk hurting gas milage?

after installing my FIPK intake, it seems like my gas milage dropped from 23-24 to 16-18...

is this normal or is it due to me excesively going into vtec to hear my intake? I remember when I first got the car and I drove it just as hard I wasn't getting such low gas milage. thanks guys.

Id say that has to do with that, Did you reset your ecu after install? Id try doing that and trying not to rip into vtec all the time and i think youll regain those extra miles. How does it sound anyways, any sound clips?

it could be from your driving style. on the next tank, be easy on the car, and see where that puts your gas mileage.

i was pretty dissapointed with the sound until WOT

its pretty loud just for an intake especially with the top down. when my gf is giving me a lecture i just gun it and its loud enough to drown her out.

yea, the same happened to me. i think it has something to do with you liking the sound of the engine and being compelled to go vtec.

Dissconect your Neg. Terminal on your battery for an hour. Then connect it, and drive it.

my neg terminal was disconnected the whole time me and my friend were installing the FIPK, that counts as a reset right?
