Default need help replacing top(with frame)

is there easy way to do this, esp for one person? I looked at the manual and seems somewhat complicated.

Yes I've replaced several. All the plastic behind the seat has to be removed.

The best thing you can do is buy the service manual from www.helminc.com or go to a dealer and photocopy the pages from the manual.

it's actually pretty simple, just very time consuming. a member on here helped me swap my 01 frame/top/motors with his that I bought, an 05 top/frame/motor.

it's probably easier if you take out the seats, but you dont have too, we didn't. you have to start by removing the plastic panels behind the seats, on the sides, and the secret compartment/center console. the plastic covering the rollbars had to come off too. once everything is off, you have to unbolt the actual frame. we had to go through the trunk for this as well, taking out the spare to get to some bolts. the plastic panels behind the seats (when the top is up, it is the tray that is behind the rollbars.)

it took us about 6 hours to take my frame and everything out, and then put his in. (he had taken his out before).

good luck with it! also, make sure you put the bolts in piles around the car where they belong, it will make it MUCH easier when putting it back together.

no, there are no rivets. you are basically unbolting everything to take out the current frame that the current top is attached to, and then putting the new frame with top already on it into the car. you just need to make sure the frame it aligned correctly in the car as you're bolting it in place.
