Need some help with my 04 S2K
I never thought this day would come, my daily driver 2004 AP2 S2000 finally gave out after 10 years of ownership and 12 years of life. I have driven this car thru midwest weather since 2004 pretty much everyday for the last 10 years of my life. Loved every second I was in this car, so much fun to drive. Three days ago I pulled my car out of my garage to find a large puddle of oil on the floor. Took the car to the dealership down the street in the morning, after two days in the shop I receive news that I did not want to hear. Seals leaking and metal shavings in my engine. Now I am left with paying to replace the engine or just selling as it is. Any advice, how hard is it to replace the engine and where can I find a used working engine?
Thanks in advance for your guys help.

I bought a complete motor on ebay for around $2800 several years ago and I still see them for around the same price. I recommend finding a 04/05 engine(direct swap, don't have to remove anything extra) and not a 08/09 like I did(you have to swap valve covers, cam position wheels, crank position wheel, intake manifold/throttle body and maybe a few other things.)
I had around 55,000 miles before the swap. My engine had 35k original miles(removed from a CR) I now have 93,000 miles on the car. Car has run flawlessly since the swap and you would never guess there was ever anything wrong at any point *knocks on wood*
Let's just say I didn't do all my homework with this online purchase of the car and the initial problems I encountered were probably reasons it was sold by the original owner in the first place. Shady seller, shady dealer, hope the guy that sold me the car is forever out of a job for being very dishonest.
I think labor was around $900-$1000, including installing aftermarket flywheel/clutch during the swap. Had the engine shipped to a shop and got it back within a couple days after they got it. If I had a 2nd hand to help or access to a lift I would've done it myself. It may be harder to find a low mileage engine. You could always opt to have the engine rebuilt
