Default In need of starting help

First bought my s2000 about a month ago. 140xxx miles. It's done this three times to me now. The first two times it refused to start for only about 20 seconds. I turn the key on everything lights up like normal. I press the clutch and push start button. The ABS light stays lit and I can hear a little click/buzz while I'm holding the button. Headlights work fine and top goes up/down. The third time it took about 5 minutes to start. I pressed the gas about 10 times and turned a few electronics on for testing then finally I held the button/gas pedal and slowly depressed the clutch. It started.

I havent tested the battery yet or alt. Anyone have this problem?

Thanks everyone. I'm not too mechanically inclined when it comes to diagnosing lol

Have your battery checked by a parts store?

today I had my battery checked along with the alt/starter. AZ said they are all perfect. So I guess now it's time for a tune up, hopefully it doesn't do it again.

Im thinking of doing the same. I'm having a similiar problem. i press to start and i just get a click. its been doing it random but now i might press to start about four times and won't start. everything works with key on no battery light on. i would wait a sec or two then try again but with a slow and steady press and voom my car starts. mind its an 04' 12xxxx miles. i dont know if it could be the start button or soleniod or starter.

Replacing the starter is a bad idea and is only guessing.

There are plenty of other issues that can cause a no crank. O the S2000, the starter is the last of them.

If it doesn't crank when you hit the start button, I would check the clutch pedal switch...
