Slip under load? Its not like you have a Chevy Metro clutch wedged into your S2000. Of course it will hold, unless of course you drive around town with your left foot resting on the clutch.

My guy called Vortech because I had the same concern, and they say there never was a problem with the black box-they say some kits were delievered with the completely wrong black box! Like one for another car! They say it is all cleared up now (we'll see!) There are 2 other gys putting their's on before me so I guess I'll know by the time my kit comes.

My delay excuse (about one week) is they are out of aftercoolers right now! I really am in no hurry as I am waiting on Duc to make me up my exhasust, etc. PT

Out of aftercoolers??? I have not heard that yet.....They just told me that they are waiting for the black boxes from "msd" (ignition company) so they better be right this time. I will have an update from them later today....

Phil, this post of yours got my brain cells working. As the oil pan mod is the first I'll be doing, this is what I'm going to do about that NPT fitting. Some have indicated that due to the "thinness" of the oil pan casing, they have gone and welded extra aluminum to it so that there is no chance of cracking under engine vibration where the fitting goes into the pan. That seems like a lot of effort and expense considering that finding a welder who's good with aluminum might be tough. Since I was told there is no such thing as a NPT (National Pipe Thread) "nut" as such, I got a matching fitting that screws onto the Vortech fitting and hack sawed it to make a nut. Since you will need a 3/8" NPT tap anyway, get one and use it to reem out the "new" nut. Then grind and file down the rough end to remove all the shavings. Also take a battery terminal wire brush to clean out the threads.
Starting from the left: Vortech double threaded fitting that goes into oil pan, newly made nut, the fitting that the nut was made from, 3/8" NPT tap below and terminal brush on top. (Sorry for the fuzzy pics - bad camera.)
Check out the pic below:

Now, you see the two put together as it will be on the oil pan. The Vortech fitting threads through the wall of the oil pan and then you thread the new nut on from the inside of the pan and snug it up tight against the wall of the pan. This will hold the fitting snug up against the wall and give it support. The silicone sealant as suggested will keep it all together hopefully forever, preventing the nut from backing out and preventing leaks, too.
